The top alpne skiers in Maine competed at Black Mountain on Friday for the chance to represent Maine in the Eastern High School Championships. The skiers competed in both the Giant Slalom in the morning, followed by an afternoon slalom. In each dicipline, the best of two runs was used to determine the top 12 skiers who would be named to the team.

Based on that criteria, the following girls earned a spot on the team:brooke boone

Blue High School, Hadley Prewitt of Marshwood High School, Brooke Boone of Yarmouth High School, Jaden Boulanger of Mountain Valley High School, Margo Hesson of Falmouth/Waynflete, Lily Boulanger of Mtn. Valley HS, Lydia Phipps of Marshwook HS, Sophie Simard of Edward Little/Leavitt HS, Anya Monson of Cape Elizabeth HS, Phoebe Bell of Maranacook HS, Breezy Quimby of Rangeley HS, and Katie Yeaton of Mt. Blue HS.

In the boys competition, the following skiers were named to the Maine team: 

Logan Schwartz of Cape Elizabeth HS, Quinn Maguire of Marshwood HS, Landon Marquis of Camden HS, Timothy Teguis of Kennebunk HS, Porter Beaule of Falmouth/Waynflete, Killian Marsh quinn mcguireof Yarmouth HS, Zach Vogel of Lake Region HS, Jett Lindelof of Islesboro HS, Keegan Lathrop of Cape Elizabeth HS, Charlie Pye of Mt. Abram HS, and Reis Stamaris of Cheverus High School.

The Eastern High School Championships will be held in New Hampshire at Cannon Mountain at the Mittersill competition center, on 3/2/23- 3/5/23.
